BAND OF BLOGGERS BY ANISHA MEHTA - Publication :Times Of India Ahmedabad; Date: Nov 17, 2007!!
I AM ACTUALLY PUBLISHING ANISHA MEHTA'S ARTICLE IN TOI ON MY BLOG>>>>HERE GOES....

When Kuheli Roy posted an article on reservation on her blog, it inspired her friends across cities like Delhi and Mumbai to participate in anti-reservation protests. It also lead to them participating in a candlelight march in Ahmedabad last year. “I sent a link of my article on reservation to all my friends in different cities. They were motivated to be a part of these protests.”
The Indian Blogosphere is inundated with techies from Bangalore and Hyderabad, talking mostly about the digital world. But there is a select band of bloggers from Ahmedabad who are doing what made blogging an international phenomenon - using it as a free-for-all diary, but also motivating to get more socially conscious.
Nitesh Jain’s blog, on the other hand, has sensitised people towards social causes. “My blog has inspired friends and colleagues to join NGOs like Yuva’ and Dhirshti. Nitesh’s blog, ‘Walking towards reality’ links videos along with regular posts on issues from flood relief to peace marches. “People talk about problems but never make an effort to solve them. Through this blog, I am taking an initiative to bring a small change in the society. My friends volunteered to work for Seva Cafe after I posted an article about it on my blog.”
Lending their contribution towards the society are also youngsters like,25-year-old Tapan Shah, a software engineer who blogs his political views to generate discussion and debates. “My article on ‘Adnan, Orkut and Media’ was chosen to be a part of various other blogging sites. It made people realise that it is not just the internet that should be regulated but other media as well, especially after Adnan Patrawala’s murder.”
Descriptive about his thoughts on female foeticide in India, latest gadgets in technology, he also likes to review movies from India and Pakistan.
Opining on life, Hemal Mehta, a third year student from H L BBA adds, “Relationships, friends or exams, all these are an integral elements in any students life and my blog.” Expressing her reasons to blog she says,“If my friends can find a reason to smile and be happy after reading my blog, it is simply worth it!”
Akash Bhavsar’s blog displays photographs showcasing the skyline, in and around Ahmedabad.

http://epaper.timesofindia.com/Repository/ml.asp?Ref=VE9JQS8yMDA3LzExLzE3I0FyMDA0MDI=&Mode=HTML&Locale=english-skin-customABOUT MY BLOG....ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS....
"BLOGGING SEEMS INTERESTING AND SINCE I AM USED TO WRITING DIARIES, I AM TRYING OUT MORE INNOVATIVE METHODS OF SELF PORTRAITURE.Blogging for me is a digital expression of myself. With the advent of technology, ideas are not only confined to one's personal diary and by blogging i can give vent to my emotions as well as reach out to different people who are poetry lovers."
The main reason why i write poems about love and hope in my blog is because with the amount of hatred and viciousness in the world....There is a need for love and hope.Poetry surely comes from the heart for me and my thoughts create my poems based on those feelings.
The most number of responses that i get are for my love poems and these are very encouraging. All the comments are very encouraging. Some of the replies are a response to my poem, a continuation or an answer to that thought. Some of my friends have started trying blogging and writing poems after reading my blog posts. Its on a small scale, yes, but its good to know that its making a difference>>small..surely but its there. This wasnt possible earlier as people didnt have access to my poems..whereas now more and more people are trying out blogging and hence accessibility is not much of an issue.
I do write on hope, success and failures too as these are the eternal truths and tests that life has to offer to all of us.
Some of my blog posts are memoirs....bitter-sweet moments and a comment on that.I also write on topics that trigger my interest or affect me directly at that point in time.My blog post on reservation did come during the protests in Mumbai in which my friends from IIT participated and when some of my friends read the blog, they passed on the thread and it kind of helped in awareness during the candlelight march in May or June 2006>>not sure of which of the two months.Well, its not that this was the only reason for the march as i'm not really a social activist..but i am an opinionated Literature student..but it helped the cause..in some way by giving "SOME PEOPLE" the "SPARK".
My favourites are all my poems as they are an extension to the self.Cant say which one.For me..each and every post is special in its own way....
WISHING MYSELF A VERY HAPPY BLOGGING!!!!AND ALL MY READERS A VERY HAPPY READING AS WELL....
CARPE DIEGM.... SIEZE THE DAY!!!! CHEER ON!!!!
