THE KING OF GRASS VS THE KING OF CLAY - WIMBLEDON 2007..It's an ace for tennis as class wins out!!!!

Wow.......
Thats how I can describe the match between Roger Federer - The King of Grass and Rafael Nadal - The King of Clay at CENTRE COURT today..It was the most amazingly spectacular match bringing out the best of the game..

It is well said that "great rivalries produce great tennis"..but it was much more than just a game today. It was a battle of nerves and determination..The eternal fight between the warrior and the artist.Rafael Nadal of course was the best rival and the standard of tennis reaches to its zenith when the World No.1 and No. 2 are both so good that one cannot predict till the very end who will win....

I was applauding the performance of both players..but being a loyal fan of Federer's artistic touches with the court as his canvas and his tennis racket as the brush..I was praying for him..and indeed being several break points down in the decider..5th set..He broke Nadal finally and then won the match by breaking Nadal again on Nadal's serve....With Borg watching from the front row of the Royal Box on only his second visit since his last appearance on Centre Court in 1981, Federer beat Rafael Nadal 7-6, 4-6, 7-6, 2-6, 6-2 after three and three-quarter hours of glorious tennis.

It was a great moment to see at the centre court wherein Federer matched the record of Bjorn Borg..who had come to see the match..and Federer in his speech was as awed by the moment as any of the spectators.

Whats really fascinating is the amount of pressure these people play under when such things make me so very nervous..and still have their nerves and determination intact..Its really really inspiring..The success stories of Pete Sampras - The God of Tennis, Roger Federer -The touch artist and Five time Consecutive Wimbledon Champion, Rafael Nadal who has improved sooooooo much and is giving a tough challenge to Federer on his favourite surface, Venus Williams who emerged as a WINNER after so many years when it was least expected....are so awe inspiring....they GIVE ME LOTS AND LOTS OF COURAGE AND DETERMINATION AND THEIR ENORMOUS HARDWORK AND GRIT GIVES ME THE NEVER SAY DIE ATTITUDE....THATS A LOT OF INSPIRATION....!!!!

CHEERS TO SHEER EXCELLENCE !!!!
